We all know that prayer can happen all the time as it says, “ pray always” well 24-7prayer ( www.24-7prayer.com) has taken this literally and has embarked on a prayer journey fashioned after the heart of the Moravians in Hernhut Germany who prayed day and night for 100 years thus releasing one of the largest missionary movements in the history. This prayer journey in Hernhut was started by a man you may have heard of Count Zinzendorf, a man of nobility that became quite common, but not in God’s eyes. Of course we all know that it was started long before that by by Jesus who fashioned His life through prayer and relationship.

It takes a whole community to pray continuously. When I was last in Malta one women said to me, prayer ( or time with the Father) is like our food, we cannot live without it”. Jesus understood this well and in fact fashioned His radical life in such a ways that communion with his Father became fuel for His heart for “ I only do what the Father has spoken to me”. Sitting before the flame of God’s heart of love for us, the revelation of the gospel and how amazing it is moves us to a place of mission, of loving others. “ For He first loved us”.

There are prayer rooms going on all the time around the world and we will be signing up at 24-7prayer.com to let others know Malta is joining them in prayer. There are storefront prayer rooms, prayer rooms in abandoned churches, in Ibiza, England, Brazil. They are not all going 24-7, but many simple people like us setting aside some time to pray as a community, to cross paths. Many are involved in reaching out to the poor and within culture. I have a friend who became a Christian in a prayer room because He felt God’s prescense there. We have also done prayer rooms in homeless shelters/ rehab centres and have seen the beautiful , raw and desperate prayers of those struggling for survival. And although the sign up is hourly we have found in the City that we live in that we cross the paths of many believer that we may have never known existed from many streams of faith. All this to say that God is meeting people where they are at and there are many more prayers to be answered in all of our communities.

It takes a whole community to pray, even if you only have a little bit of time. God’s heart is moved by our prayers, not by what we do for Him, but he is able to reveal his heart towards us and therefore towards humanity.

Okay, I will leave it at that. We are excited to see what God will do. Any questions send them our way. If you could please print this out and share it with your church this week that would be great. Or post in on your walls.

Love much, God Bless
